Pastor Mboro to challenge decision to deny him bail

JOHANNESBURG – Pastor Paseko “Mboro” Motsoeneng is back in court challenging the decision to deny him bail.
The self-proclaimed prophet was arrested after a viral video showed him, his son and bodyguard brandishing weapons at teachers and community members at a Katlehong primary school, southeast of Johannesburg.
He is alleging victimisation and prejudice in police custody.

The court denied bail to both Mboro and his bodyguard, saying they failed to provide sufficient evidence to justify their release.
They are facing charges including kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and intimidation.
Mboro’s son was released on a warning.
